If you have been curious about the benefits of investing in your local Community Foundation, I welcome you to join us at the OICF stakeholders investment meeting, Wednesday, October 17, 4:30-6:30 at the Eastsound Fire Hall. Dave Drews and Mike Milojevich from Cornerstone Advisors will present on the investment strategy and performance of funds held through OICF. They will also roll out our newest investment option, the Blue Marble Fund, an ESG pool filtered to support environmentally sensitive, socially responsible and good governance practices. We will also spend some time discussing the value of investing in this community. I hope you can join us.
I have been investing some of my time at the Arts Visioning workshop hosted by Joe Cohen and Martha Farish at the Orcas Center. They have gathered 60 community members for a three day process to develop common goals and strategies to enhance and expand the arts economy on Orcas-quite an ambitious undertaking that has great potential to build a more collaborative and sustainable future for Arts and Culture on Orcas. I will report more after the curtain drops.
OICF purchased the Guidestar Nonprofit Compensation report for 2018. This report is based on nonprofit 990 reporting and includes state, sector, and role specific data. If you are interested in learning where your organizations salaries fit in the bigger picture, please call and we can scan the data. We will also be running a Salary and Benefit survey for local nonprofits in the next few months. If you have specific questions you are hoping to have answered, please give me a ring and we can discuss possibilities.
I am off to press apples this weekend. Stop by OICF next week if you want to taste!
