Thank you to everyone who was able to join us at the Block Party on Sept. 5th. The music was lovely, the food was delicious (thank you Wendy Thomas and the Wild Island crew) and the pours were hearty! It was great to have so many people on hand to celebrate Community Builders Extraordinaire–Helen Bee and OPAL Community Land Trust.

The photo is from our photo booth, where we asked folks to tell us about what they love about Orcas. I selected Helen, as she represents what I love most– the community of generous, smart, thoughtful and engaged people. Helen is all that and more and I am very grateful to call her a friend and mentor.

Please take a look at our (brief) annual report.  It has been a banner year, thanks to all of you who continue to give to and through OICF. Your contributions are key to keeping this community strong.

Orcas Island Fire and Rescue is hosting a 9/11 Memorial Dedication Ceremony on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Station, located at 45 Lavender Lane. All are welcome. The Memorial, which houses a 6-foot beam from the fallen towers at the New York World Trade Center, will be unveiled following a short ceremony with reception to follow.

All the best-
Hilary
