Due to our incredible partnership with All In Washington, all donations from now through July 8th to the Orcas Island Community Foundation Emergency Response Fund will be matched 100%.
All In WA is statewide campaign working to address COVID recovery and racial equity (www.allinwa.org) and they have partnered with OICF and other place-based foundations throughout Washington. In order to have your gift counted towards the match, please note All In WA in the recognition field. Donations can be online, mailed to PO Box 1496, Eastsound, WA 98245, or dropped off at 44 Urner Street, unit #4.
The Economic Recovery and Resiliency project is scheduling community meetings for July 6-12. The goal is to invite participants to answer the question “What ideas do you have for the Orcas Community to recover and move into the future?” The meetings will all be virtual. View the schedule, read the background info, and register for a meeting at the Orcas Resiliency Website. I hope you will attend one of the sessions. It will take all of us working together to come out of this crisis changed for the better.
It has been a steep learning curve to organize a community process while distancing. At the same time, I am hearing the desire to connect with so many people. Hopefully, the conversations will provide that opportunity and help us set a course for the future. Wishing you a peaceful Fourth of July.
