We are in the home stretch of the GiveOrcas Campaign. Thanks to the 603 neighbors who have contributed so far. We are 75% funded with three days to go. It is really exciting to see so many new donors to the process — over 200 so far!
Eleven of the proposals are fully funded, and we are so close to getting the rest of the proposals over the finish line! Check out the remaining GiveOrcas opportunities. This is our biggest campaign ever, and we are delighted to be so close to full funding for all!
We are planning to host the Grant Award Celebration on Thursday, May 19 from 4-6 at Emmanuel Parish Hall. This is always such a joyful event, and we are sure hoping we can gather in person. Given the current surge of Covid on the island, we are going to make a final decision on Monday to go forward, postpone, or figure out an alternative outdoor location. I will send confirmation on Monday.
Eastsound continues to be a hive of construction activity between Prune Alley and the new construction on North Beach. Several of the businesses that front Prune Alley are having a challenging time and seeing a significant drop in business. This would be a good time to shop and purchase a meal to spread the love.
Have a great weekend.
