The fog hanging in Crow Valley in the morning
The results of the CF Insights Columbus Survey for 2020 have been released.
OICF is ranked #1 out of 207 community foundations nationally for per capita gifts with a rate of $1,266. That represents an annual distribution rate of 29% of our assets, ranking us 4th in that category. WOW! You can view the full list here.
These rankings are a reflection of the tremendous outpouring of community support that you provided during the first year of the pandemic. That support meant that neighbors who needed help putting food on the table or keeping a roof over head had help connecting to essential services from our amazing local nonprofits. Rides were provided, check-in calls made, Meals on Wheels delivered, PPE distributed, all thanks to the generosity of this community.
It is worth noting that we are the smallest community represented in the survey. Our size provides us with an opportunity to really look out for each other. While the pandemic certainly impacted us all, we were able to lessen those impacts because we pulled together, pitched in, and helped each other.
Brendan Cowen, the SJCo Emergency manager, has announced that this week’s Covid Update will be the last (at least for now). There are plans underway for a 4th booster clinic sometime this Spring and I will let you know when the date has been set.
Now that we are in a recovery and rediscovery phase, it is wonderful to see smiles again. We are readjusting to being together again. I’d love time to catch up, so please reach out for a cup of tea, a walk, or just to visit. The office is open and we are ready to reconnect!
Happy April-
Hilary
