Washington State Department of Commerce Federal Grants Workshop

Learn how to build stronger grant applications at this free, informative, and interactive workshop provided by the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Federal Funds Grant Writing Assistance Program (FFGWAP) and cohosted by the Orcas Island Community Foundation and the Economic Development Council of San Juan County.

Location: Emmanuel Episcopal Church- Parish Hall

Morning refreshments (coffee and pastries) and lunch will be provided!

The full day workshop will offer a well-rounded introduction to both federal grant writing and grant management, equipping participants with practical tools and guidance to strengthen their approach to securing and managing funding. The workshop sessions include a mix of presentations, group discussion, and interactive activities focused on key concepts, strategies for success, and lessons learned across the full grant lifecycle. Attendees will gain insight into best practices, common challenges, and ways to position their projects and organizations for long-term impact.

To allow as many organizations as possible to participate, we kindly ask that each organization limit registration to a maximum of two attendees. If you register and later find that you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration so that the space can be made available to others.



Introduction to Board Service:

Typically held annually each fall. This free workshop covers basic board responsibilities, effective practices, and how to find the right board for you to serve on. Stay tuned for more details!
