We moved! While not fully unpacked, we are fully in our new offices and WE LOVE IT! This building is such a wonderful gift. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the Volk Family, the Henigsons, and the community as a whole.

The space is open, light, and surrounded by trees. We have plenty of room for all of us and all of our files and equipment. There is ample space for simultaneous meetings for groups of various sizes. The Volk Family Meeting room has already been used by three island organizations. The room is big enough to hold up to 20 folks either at a long table or in rows or a circle.  We are hoping to figure out a versatile table set up to allow it to morph to meet varying needs. Until then our folding plastic tables will work.

We committed to not buying anything until we saw how we fit and we have been pleasantly surprised at how little additional we need. The small conference room did need furnishing, and lo and behold, a pair of lovely chairs and a fabulous leather couch were offered by donors cleaning out their houses. We needed another corner chair, and the Exchange donated one that had been donated to them. We are on the lookout for rugs, one for the front hall, one for the small conference room and one for the main office.  If you have any stashed away that you are ready to part with, please let us know.

Please swing by when you have time–33 Urner Street, #4. We would be delighted to show you around.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Hilary
