The Orcas Island Community Foundation (OICF) was founded in 1995 to help build and strengthen our community by encouraging and supporting local philanthropy and by connecting people and organizations who want to make a difference by improving the quality of life on Orcas Island.

In early 2023, CF Insights Columbus Survey released their rankings for 2021.

Nationally, OICF is ranked #4 out of 209 community foundations for per capita gifts with a rate of $840. That represents an annual distribution rate of 16% of our assets, ranking us 9th in that category. You can view the full list here.

GIVE ORCAS IS HERE!

Now is your chance to support local organizations near and dear to you and your family! This year’s spring catalog features 26 organizations that have submitted proposals seeking community support, each one thoroughly vetted and approved by a Community Grants Committee made up of local volunteers.

Give Orcas began as a way to extend funds that OICF has to invest in the community as the needs are greater than OICF alone can fill. Twice a year, The Foundation turns to the community to invite everyone to pitch in $10 or more to help! Support the programs that make this community so resilient and vibrant! Give Orcas is a great community builder, amplifying the amazing efforts and essential services that so many nonprofits offer to residents day in and day out. Together, we make a remarkable difference and the entire community benefits! 100% of all donations goes directly to the programs you support- OICF even pays the credit card fees. Working together makes Orcas better!  Visit www.giveorcas.org to make your contribution today!
